Graham and Laurie came to visit us many times in Birmingham. One particular visit required us to take him to Bromsgrove to see the Lickey Banker pull the passenger train up the incline. We left in plenty of time, found a good spot, climbed up the bank, couldn't see anything, scrambled down, drove further on,found another good view point, climbed through the stingers and brambles but still wasn't able to see, Graham becoming anxious as time was very close to train passing and him missing it,drove on and just stopped,Graham and Jim scrambled up the steepest bank just under a bridge, clung to a post each and just managed to raise their heads above the bank to see Lickey Banker chug passed! They slid down the bank like the kids out of the History Boys with red faces and mud on their knees and elbows. He didn't care,it was all he wanted,he said 'right what does everyone else want to do now' and he had that grin with his laughing eyes sparkling - wonderful. Never met a couple with so many true friends. Never met a lovelier couple. Kind, thoughtfull generous family man,he was Lauries' perfect soul mate. Graham God Bless, and thank you for being our friend. xx
